UCI Chamber Singers presents dreams of the new world, a major new work commissioned by the Los Angeles Master Chorale, in a concert-quality “workshop performance.” The work, by composer Ellen Reid with librettist Sarah LaBrie and lead researcher Sayd Randle, explores themes of the American dream, both aspired to and realized, in Memphis, Houston, and Los Angeles. The work, which features a 14-member professional instrumental ensemble and five vocal soloists, will premiere in Walt Disney Concert Hall in May, 2018.
Please join us for a post-performance TalkBack with the creative team.
Jointly sponsored by UCI Illuminations and the Department of Music.
Free event and open to the public with registration.
